Abstract
DJ Waxx, Melbourne based Techno producer Marko Mijac is of Slovak and Croatian descent and his upcoming album is influenced by the Croatian War of Independence and the rave culture that grew out of it. From Croatia's first rave party at Grič Tunnel, Zagreb 1993 to Serbia's Optor!
The music on the album is heavily influenced by artists such as Peter Dundov and Umek, both in production and DJ mixes from that time period. The concept behind the record was to make Techno music that you could imagine being played at these rave parties and to explore escapism through music, making tracks from the raver's perspective.
