Abstract

‘Talk Doesn’t Cook Rice’ aims to give the reader an understanding of Chinese/Vietnamese fusion home cooking, with the added experience of insight into a 2nd generation Australian-Born Chinese character. It will be a cookbook combined with illustrative graphic novel elements. It is inspired by both the autobiographical graphic novels of Kabi Nagata (My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness, 2017) as well as multiple one-shot diary-like illustrations. ‘Talk Doesn’t Cook Rice’ aims to teach readers how to cook home-style Chinese/Vietnamese fusion dishes.
