Abstract
Joyful is a psychological thriller centered around Joy, a young, altruistic woman with a moderately successful Makeup channel on VidHub. Through the years, she has gained some attention not only for her creative makeup tutorials, but also because of her bubbly and warm on-screen personality that draws in her viewers and loyal fans.
When Joy meets Cleo, an insecure yet extroverted individual who seems all too keen on learning about Joy’s career, she seizes the rare opportunity to make a friend.As Joy begins to feel the claustrophobic effects of Cleo’s friendship, it becomes all too clear that social media and online personalities have corrupted Cleo’s sense of reality. Joy is her way into the online fantasy she so desperately wants.
