Abstract

Live on the Soundstage was a series of weekly events, hosted from September through to November of 2017. The project hosted ten different acts from across Melbourne and Victoria. Each performance was recorded and filmed and was made available to artists to establish and further their careers, whilst the project would share this talent on a series of online platforms including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and SoundCloud with a network of musicians, music-lovers, and audio engineers.

Hosted on the soundstage at SAE Melbourne, each week saw a different act, with a different set of instrumentation. These acts were Matt Henry, Brasswind Circus, Michelle Moyle, Hannah Glass, Liz Powell, Thomas Headon, Hey Mammoth, Spec8, Louise Gaul and Caitlyn Adshead. These acts utilised acoustic guitars, saxophones, drum kits, ukuleles, keyboards and vocals.

These artists presented a range of different music styles, performing their own works, and covers of popular songs. Over six hours of content was recorded and mixed as a valuable asset for each of these talented musicians.
