Abstract
The project is a 4 track EP for my own band, Slow Nomad. For this project I was also a co-writer as well as producer, recording and mix engineer. The aim of the project was to produce a live sounding psychedelic alternate rock EP with an interesting sound scape and atmosphere. All of the instruments and layers for this project were recorded, using no artificial instruments or sounds. Through incorporating reverbs and atmospheric layers a live but polished sound was achieved that kept the feel of a live band playing together with the unpredictability of a live sound. The instruments used were electric guitars, bass, electric keyboards and drums with vocals, all recorded for this project. The blend of instruments was a focus of this EP, which aimed for a combination of sounds played by each instrument rather than a lead part. This was achieved throughout the recording process and the resulting product is a lush soundscape staying true to the live nature of the band.
