Abstract
Women In Stereo is a project focused on getting more women involved in the audio and music industries. To do this, we created a compilation album of emerging local female and non-binary talent to showcase the incredible things that women in these industries are doing, as well as a monthly podcast discussing the many issues facing women not only in these industries, but in life as well. The album - Let Her Rise, Let Her Bloom consists of seven tracks, four being music and three being spoken word poetry. The spoken word pieces bookend the album, providing a running commentary of what it means to be a woman in a male dominated world, whilst the music pieces provide a broader, feminine perspective on topics such as love, lust, anxiety, and the breakdown of relationships. The podcast The Equalisation Podcast dives into topics such as the gender inequality in both the audio and music industries in a way that is both entertaining and informative in hopes to break down some of the barriers women face when entering these industries. - Creator.
