Alpha Demo Build v0.1.0

Abstract

Liquid is a first person procedural horror game built in Unity. Players descend through an abandoned subterranean facility, scavenging supplies, completing terminal driven missions, and extracting their findings while evading hostile creatures that emerge from the dark. Each floor is procedurally generated from a room library, with item placement, enemy spawns, and mission objectives layered on top by a runtime planner. Combat is grounded and resource scarce: weapons use realistic magazine and attachment systems, ammunition is limited, and the title creature (Liquid) is a noise triggered apex predator that sweeps through rooms with no counterplay beyond staying silent or hiding.

This alpha demo build represents a vertical slice of the planned game, focused on the core gameplay loop, movement, looting, mission driven objectives, the safe room terminal, the COMS device for narrative delivery, and elevator based floor progression. Several systems including the expanded enemy roster, full narrative chapters, and post extraction polish remain on the roadmap. Submitted as the deliverable for CIM330, 2026.

Title: Liquid Build: Alpha Demo Build v0.1.0 Genre: First Person Procedural Horror / Survival Extraction Engine: Unity 6 (Universal Render Pipeline) Platform: Windows PC (standalone build) Submission: [CIM330 Major Project], [2026, T1]   Team: Dana Taha [Unity Developer] Leonardo Estigarribia [Unity Developer]   Notes on scope: This submission is an alpha vertical slice. The build demonstrates the core gameplay loop on the first procedurally generated floor, including the inventory, weapon, mission, terminal, COMS, scanner, and extraction systems, plus a subset of the planned enemy roster. The roadmap beyond this milestone includes expanded enemy behaviours, full narrative content, additional floor and room presets, and a final polish pass.   Build instructions: Extract the .zip file onto a folder of your liking, then run Liquid.exe.   A new save slot is created on first launch. The elevator terminal in the safe room drives floor progression; all other controls are surfaced in the in game settings menu.
