Abstract
The Legend of Saskia or La Leyenda de Saskia is a concept album that is designed to create a more complete experience for fantasy readers. At its core, it is a novel - "The Legend of Saskia" - that is created with a soundscape in mind, the way TV shows or movies are. Uniquely, the conceptual novel comes with its own original soundtrack that vastly improves immersion and the emotional impact of the story. The story is about Saskia, a pirate travelling the seas who at some point finds herself to be the chosen one to save the kingdom from the tyranny of the evil elf queen. The final project was essentially a "Deluxe Edition" style package of the book which would contain the novel/s, soundtrack CD/ Vinyl (which included a mini collection of illustrations corresponding to each soundtrack), art prints, bookmarks, stickers, postcards, tote bags etc. all made with original hand-drawn illustrations.
