Abstract
To Act is an action platformer, drawing inspiration from titles such as Hollow Knight (Team Cherry, 2018b), Cuphead (Moldenhauer & Moldenhauer, 2020) and Deadcells (Motion Twin, 2018a), with the intent being to expand gameplay into the realm of metroidvania after the completion of our studies. The core theme is that of acceptance, primarily of emotions but also of help and assistance, drawing on themes of co-operation, self-discovery and mutual aid (TransHub, 2019), as well as real world psychotherapeutic concepts (Australian Psychological Society, 2024).
