Abstract
SAPHIR by ELÁN is a multidisciplinary luxury fragrance advertising/marketing/promotional campaign that transforms the identity of a fictional (soon to be real) unisex perfume into a complete cinematic and sonic brand experience. Created by Team ELÁN; Ye Bala Naing Soe, Mari Yanagisawa and Zac Schieber, the project combines fragrance and product development, 3D animation, visual storytelling, original music, sound design and radio advertising.
Guided by research into fragrance marketing, audience behaviour, visual symbolism, film scoring and sonic branding, SAPHIR explores how an intangible sense such as scent can be communicated through image, movement and sound. Its creative world evolves through fresh aquatic and fruity imagery, soft floral textures, grounding woods and a nocturnal desert oasis which reflect the fragrance itself.
Developed through collaboration, experimentation and iterative testing, the project culminates in an animated commercial film, original theme song, radio advertisement and supporting brand experience that all represent ELÁN as a vision of confidence, expression and modern interdisciplinary creativity.
