Abstract
In Sydney, Australia, Tatum is working a slow shift at a music store. A lively customer named Hayley walks in wearing a “Vociferous” shirt. A short-lived rock band from back in the day that showed so much promise. As Hayley wonders what happened, Tatum thinks back to the gig where it all ended.
Before their set, Vociferous is offered a music label, a record deal, as long as they tone down their extremities, their political commentary, their harsh language, and their crude humor. Owen is all for this deal, knowing that they’re barely getting by from their small, local shows, a stability for which he is willing to make sacrifices for. However, Tatum doesn’t want to betray her own values and fans; the two hit a stalemate.
