Abstract

This work was developed specifically for the forthcoming VDP220 course in the School of VFX, as a marketing source. This output of work and others like it serves as evidence of the level of digital sculpting capability our students can achieve when technical skills are integrated with conceptual thinking, to creatively engaging process to embark on an iterative journey. Character development of this nature demonstrates how personal vision, world building, and narrative intent can meaningfully inform technical outcomes. It prompts consideration of the types of worlds and characters our students are capable of creating when encouraged to move beyond functional execution toward expressive authorship.
The process itself was inspired by several digital sculptors who use this fromidable software, Zbrush. It is one of a kind and offers a uniique opportunity for students to engage in the production of organic forms, an experience which no other other software can compare with professionally.
