Abstract
For this project I have created designs for an indie pop rock band called ‘Homemade Haircuts’. Inspired by the act of giving yourself a haircut to save money, the band situates itself within its genre through exploring life as growing adults in a world that makes it ever more challenging to establish yourself. The band also explores themes of financial disparity, coming of age, self destruction and fickle romance. Their music aims to be attractive to late-teens, young adults, students, men, women and the queer community alike. Through utilising the design elements and principles, exploring printmaking and its significance to the indie music scene, and the utilisation of low resolution font, I have effectively situated my designs for the fictional band ‘Homemade Haircuts’ as apart of the indie pop rock genre.
