Abstract
Project Dozer is a 4 track Instrumental HipHop EP. The original concept was born from my many years of listening to HipHop music. I had been crafting my beat production skills for a few years now, combining the MPC with Ableton Live. For this project, I felt I needed to focus on recording the sounds, and developing the tones I have come to enjoy, from the ground up. I knew from day one this was going to be a hard slog. As my critical listening and engineering skills develop, the hungrier I become for quality sound. Many hours were needed, and many more still are, for me to get where I need to go. This EP is a true representation of my appreciation of HipHop music and the number of hours and handwork I had to put in to get somewhere near a final production, hence...Project DOZER.
Thank you to all the artists involved. It was a great experience for me and I hope you enjoy the final product. Also thanks to Matt Bangerter and Gareth Parton for the conversations and advice.
