Abstract
"Spider" is a Single released by P-Pop Group, DNA, serving as the key track of their self-titled debut album from ABS-CBN Music/Star Pop. The song was co-composed by Robert William Anchuvas Pereña and Jonathan Manalo.
"Spider", written in both English and Tagalog, explores the many anxieties that crawl in one's head, poetically represented by a Spider and the rain, and how one wishes for it to pass by letting the sunshine back in. The dark approach to the pop dance track reflects the high energy one uses to mask one's emotions, hiding the other mental health struggles that thrive within, many of which have been caused by the many things we consume in a day to day basis, both through things we see in our screens and reality. This song was written to also reflect the many anxieties the current world faces, and how there is still some sort of light, or hope, after the rain.
