Abstract
For our project, our group was presented with the 89% project. The 89% project focuses on the 89% of people who want to make a change for our climate, but simply don't commit, essentially getting the route for climate change reduction nowhere.
We chose Behavioural Sciences as our theoretical lens. This means we would be putting time into researching exactly who our audience is, and what attitudes and reactions they hold in regards to climate change. We needed to figure out a way to inform the 89% of this issue, and convince them to join us in improving the way we deal with climate change, and encouraging others to join along the way.
Our audience is Gen Z and Gen Y, since our project is to be across social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, which is where 91% of gen z are on Instagram, 67% of gen z are on Facebook, 86% of gen y are on Instagram, and 87% of gen y are on Facebook (Sprout Social, n.d.).
Our prototypes include the artwork which works as a slideshow for carousel posts online to show a visual story in regards to our project (The Rainbow Tree Project), the song which shares a story in relation to the 89% project and the rainbow tree project through lyrics and musical elements in the instrumentation, and the animation which shows many dead tree's being painted in rainbow colours which shares what our main project idea is, which is to inspire groups to paint dead tree's (That have no wild life nearby) to spread awareness for the 89% project, similarly to the blue tree project which spreads awareness for mental health and suicide prevention.
