Volume 2, Issue 1

Welcome to the second issue of our journal, which continues the journey from Imaginings’ inaugural edition of August 2025.

The non-binding subtheme for this issue is the creative and critical value of embracing ambiguity, and follows recent work on uncertainty as a valuable ally in creative practice. Some of our authors engaged with this theme explicitly, but otherwise the thread runs subtle through aspects of each discussion. We have fourteen fresh articles for your consideration, from a variety of disciplines (games, animation, music, audio, design, film, creative industries), making this the most comprehensive edition of our journal so far.

We would like to thank each of our incredible contributors for their engaging explorations of their creative practice, thought-provoking theoretical critiques, and their individual reflections on teaching and scholarship.

We would also like to thank all those who continue supporting this endeavour by allowing the time and space for it to breathe and grow, and for their advice and moral support: in particular our wonderful Dean, Rachael Shea, Dr Corinna Di Niro, and Dr Toby Wren.
